From the box to the first voted song — usually under half an hour.
In short: you need a device with a browser (a mini PC, a laptop or a tablet), an audio cable to your amplifier, and an internet connection. Create the venue account on juke4.me/signup, open play.juke4.me on that device, schedule a playlist, print the QR code and place it on the tables. No jukebox cabinet, no installer, no software to download on the guests' phones.
Any device able to run a recent browser and output sound continuously: a mini PC, a spare laptop, a tablet or a TV box. Choose something that can stay plugged in, with the screen sleep disabled, and connect it to the venue amplifier with a jack, RCA or HDMI-to-analogue adapter depending on your sound system. There is nothing else to buy: no jukebox cabinet, no payment terminal, no proprietary box. If your sound system is driven by a mixer, the device can go on a spare channel, which lets the staff set the music level independently of the microphones.
Registration is self-service on juke4.me/signup: venue name, type, city and a contact email are enough. The account is active immediately and the 30-day trial includes every feature — customer requests and votes, venue curation, analytics, announcements and multi-venue management. A mobile number for the manager is recommended but optional, used only for operational messages. You can add the rest of the settings, logo, opening hours and time zone from the dashboard afterwards.
On the device connected to the amplifier, open play.juke4.me and log in with the venue account. The player page shows the current track, the cover art and the next tracks in the queue. Set the device volume to about 80% and use the amplifier to bring it to the level the room needs — that leaves headroom for quiet tracks and avoids distortion. Leave the page open: the player reconnects on its own if the network drops, and resumes the track where the room actually is rather than restarting it.
In admin.juke4.me, create one playlist per moment of the day — a relaxed list for lunch, a busier one for happy hour, a long one for the last hours — and search tracks from YouTube Music to fill them. Then assign each playlist to a time slot in the agenda, using the venue's own time zone. The agenda wins over guest requests, so the atmosphere you planned is respected; outside scheduled slots, guests drive the queue and their votes decide what plays next. Slots can cross midnight, which is what a late-night set usually needs.
The venue QR code is available from the dashboard and points to the venue page on app.juke4.me. Print it large enough to be scanned from a seated position — a table tent, a coaster or a sticker on the bar works well — and always test it from a guest phone that is not logged into the dashboard. Because the QR code is a stable link for the life of the venue, printed material does not have to be replaced. Add one line of instruction next to it ("scan to pick the music") : it is the single detail that makes guests actually use it.
Juke4ME does not host a catalogue and does not grant public performance rights: it streams tracks from YouTube Music on the venue's behalf. The venue remains responsible for the licences required to play music publicly in its premises. In Malaysia the relevant collective management bodies are MACP (mechanical rights), PPM (public performance) and RPM (recording performance). Check your current licence status with them before switching the player on in public — this is the same obligation that applies to a radio, a playlist or a jukebox cabinet.
